In ‘Daily Routine’, the female figure appears detached from her own body, almost reduced to a geometric form, while the cow floats above in a dreamlike, subconscious space. This composition embodies a complex dynamic in which Aysel transfers her emotional presence onto the animal, effectively silencing her own. The woman exists in the shadows – present yet withdrawn, quietly resisting being seen. The series probes profound questions on womanhood and female presence. These themes quietly resonate throughout Shahnaz Aghayeva’s oeuvre, revealing the layered experiences of women whose lives often unfold in silence or service.
