In ‘Slow Morning’, Rzaeva approaches spring as a temporal condition structuring the composition. Built through subtle tonal transitions and dispersed elements, the canvas reflects the earliest, often imperceptible stages of seasonal change. Light here is treated by the artist as a diffused presence, spreading gently across the composition and guiding the viewer’s attention toward minor shifts. Forms appear in a state of emergence, recalling the tentative growth of early vegetation and the slow awaking of the landscape. These elements hover at the threshold of visibility, mirroring the way spring reveals itself gradually, through fragments and soft indications.
