Niyaz Najafov Flowers in Vase (2023)
framed: 59h × 37.5w cm
Oil on MDF

Niyaz Najafov’s 'Flowers' series builds a symbolic and emotionally charged visual language, where lines become a primary mode of communication. For Najafov, line is a gesture of expression that maps the invisible dialogue between form and feeling. The geometry of space, constructed on the canvas, becomes a framework for this exchange. His recurring motif – the vase – is often distorted, anthropomorphized, and rendered with a masculine presence. In contrast, the flowers, delicate and transparent, refer to the feminine. Their intimate coexistence within the frame suggests a symbolic unity – a visual metaphor for relational harmony and the essential interdependence of dual forces.
