Huseyn Jalil Trigona Series (2024)
framed: 40h × 39.5w cm
Watercolor on cotton paper

This series of works is inspired by the architecture of Trigona bee hives, where every line and form follows principles of biological efficiency and structural stability. The resulting patterns evoke networks of coral, the alveoli of lungs, and the textures of fluid environments, underscoring the deep connection between intricate details and larger systems. Trigona bees, native to tropical regions of Asia, Africa, and South America, construct hives with morphogenetic precision. Each cell and tunnel distributes pressure and regulates the microclimate essential for the survival of the colony. The forms in these works emerge as traces of natural processes, where chaos and order merge to generate structures that are both intuitive and harmonious. The patterns reflect morphogenetic principles, the underlying laws that govern the organization and growth of living systems across microscopic and macroscopic scales. 'Trigona Series' functions as a visual map of hidden structural patterns, captured through fluid ink and organic line.
