'Inheritance' considers care as a cyclical state, moving across time, passing between different forms of the self. Throughout this idea, vulnerability is retained and carried forward alongside the capacity to protect. Drawing on the logic of repair associated with "kintsugi", the work makes fracture legible, instead of concealing it. Thus, breakage becomes part of the structure, acknowledged and integrated. In Sahar Ghavami’s practice, such moments mark transitions, where damage and care coexist. The gesture of protection, recurring in her depictions of animals, is here extended inward. Care becomes reciprocal, circulating between self and other, remaining provisional, continuous, and shaped by what one has already endured.

Central to Ghavami’s practice is the creation of protective environments and dream-like states. Visually, her paintings unfold with a pronounced sense of fluid continuity: forms do not end so much as they become. A human hand holding an animal may gradually dissolve into its fur or skin, while the animal merges into the surrounding environment. These transitions occur without rupture, guided by an internal logic that resists hierarchy or separation.
